A 2 day course which will equip the student with information regarding Defence and Commercial Information Management Systems. These systems are all based on the same principles of Asset Identification, Asset Valuation, Risk Assessment and Risk Management plus continuing procedures for the monitoring, correction and development of the system. The principles and methods of audit of these systems will be introduced. The approach to setting up an ISMS is broadly the same for all areas of Information Security - Commercial, Civil Government, Defence (Infrastructure and Operations) and the object of Day 1 is cover these basic principles. Day 2 will be structured around one (or more) of the following Security requirements:
Commercial (ISO17799), UK Defence
(JSP440) and NATO. Although the UK Commercial and Civil requirements have been largely harmonised the Defence and NATO requirements are different and demand quite specific forms of documentation. NATO requires the setting up of national committee structure for NATO liaison if this does not already exist.
The purpose of Day 2 is to cover the procedural and documentary requirements for Accreditation or Approval by the chosen Authority.
