Encryption

A 2 day course which will introduce the student to the Principles of Encryption - chiefly Symmetric and Asymmetric Encryption plus some reference to Steganography. Symmetric Encryption is the conventional method using the same key and algorithm to encrypt and decrypt. The standard algorithms and their strengths and weaknesses are discussed. Asymmetric Encryption is now widely used (although internally dependent on Symmetric encryption) and the concept of separate keys for Encryption and Decryption as a means not only of Encryption but also of Authentication is explained. The second day explains the application of the principles -covering Protocols e.g. S/MIME, IPSEC, TDL-specific protocols. This can be structured to focus in on a particular protocol and cover the application down to detailed operational procedures if necessary.

All students receive the course presentations in both handout and CD format. This course is currently held on request and will be given at a time or venue to suit you. The content can also be varied, or the course length altered, to suit your specific needs. Contact us with your requirements, and we'll provide the solution
